The Compounding Lab at Scott Street Pharmacy is fully compliant with the Professional Compounding Chemists of Australia (PCCA) Compounding standards. We are audited and inspected by PCCA every two years to give peace of mind to prescribers, patients and pharmacists. All of our preparations meet standards of Quality Assurance for patient safety. We also submit samples to Eagle Analytical for potency tests.
We offer Saliva Testing where you can measure your hormones at home with a saliva test kit from NutriPath Integrative Pathology Services. You can also complete a Hormone evaluation form. Saliva Tests can capture baseline hormones, adrenal hormones, full cycle hormones, luteal phase hormones and melatonin hormones. The results from these tests are forwarded to the pharmacist. When the pharmacist receives your results, they will liase with your preferred doctor to discuss your treatment options if needed. For compounded products containing hormones, a prescription is required from your doctor.
As part of our services our Compounding Pharmacist will carry out a consultation and risk assessment on all compounded medication before commencement. We can post or courier medications to customers outside of Toowoomba.
We use various couriers such Australia Post, Followmont, Fastways and Queensland Bus services. We choose the most efficient and cost effective couriers to ensure delivery and at a reasonable cost.

When you are on five or more medications, we can do a Medscheck or Diabetes Medscheck service in the pharmacy. The pharmacist will go through all your medications with you and make sure you are confident why you are using them and discuss any question you may have.
For a Home Medication Review, the doctor will write a referral letter and a consultant pharmacist will come your home and do the Medication Review.

Our easy in store haemoglobin test involves a quick finger prick to obtain a small sample of blood. The sample is inserted to our Laboratory Grade Haemoglobin Analyzer and results are given in under one second. If the level produced is outside of the normal range our trained consultants will offer you free advice on how to manage your iron levels or refer you to your doctor for further testing.
